Diesel consumption across Egypt reached 1.18 million tons per month before liberating fuel prices, Amwal El-Ghad reported, citing sources at the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC).

Supplies have been recently increased to about 1.2 million tons a month in order to meet any increases in demand to ensure market stability.

The current diesel production rate stands at 500,000 tons per month, covering around 45% of the local consumption.

The source also noted that butane consumption reached 332,000 tons, with production covering about 50% of local demand.
