East Zeit Hosts Third Technical Workshop Ahead of EOGC 2026

The development of oil fields in the Eastern Desert and Gulf of Suez was the focus of the third technical workshop organized by the Egypt Oil & Gas Group ahead of the 12th Egypt Oil & Gas Convention (EOGC 2026). Held on October 28 -29 at the East Zeit area of the Offshore Shukheir Oil Company (OSOCO), the workshop brought together representatives from Egypt’s public and private petroleum sectors to discuss field development and share technical and operational experience.

Organized in collaboration with the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), the workshop series provides a platform for engineers working in similar operating environments to exchange expertise, share best practices, and address common technical challenges. The sessions aim to identify practical approaches to improving operational performance, with key findings and recommendations set to be presented at EOGC 2026 in late November.

The workshop was attended by Tamer Edrees, Deputy CEO for Production at EGPC, Mohamed Ali, Chairman of OSOCO, and Mohamed Farouk, Egypt Vice President at Dragon Oil, alongside other leaders from the public and private sectors.

It additionally featured presentations from South Valley Egyptian Petroleum Holding Company (Ganope), OSOCO, Gulf of Suez Petroleum Company (GUPCO), Gemsa Petroleum Company, NANT, General Petroleum Company (GPC), PetroBaker, and Petrogulf Misr. The presentations provided a forum for participating companies to share their operational experiences and discuss issues related to developing oil fields in the Eastern Desert and Gulf of Suez.

The workshop was the third in EOG’s annual technical workshop series, which is being held as part of preparations for EOGC 2026. The first session took place at the Badr-3 field in the Western Desert on October 6–7, followed by a workshop on Delta and Mediterranean field development at Pharaonic Petroleum Company’s (PhPC) West Harbour field on October 11.

EOGC’s field workshops are sponsored by United Energy Egypt (UEE), an affiliate of Kuwait Energy Egypt (KEE) under the umbrella of United Energy Group (UEG). UEE was awarded Western Desert Block 11 in 2021, marking its entry into Egypt’s onshore upstream sector.
