Vaalco Energy, a world-class operator in African oil and gas production and development, implemented three community service projects in Egypt during fiscal year (FY) 2025/2026, focusing on healthcare, medical services, and special education in communities where the company operates in the Red Sea Governorate.
“At Vaalco Energy, our corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives are designed to address the direct needs and priorities of the communities surrounding our operations. We view this support as an essential component of our social license to operate,” Vaalco Energy told Egypt Oil and Gas (EOG).
The projects include renovating and upgrading the health unit in Umm Al-Huwaitat village to support local healthcare services, as well as organizing a medical convoy in Ras Gharib City that provided free medication to about 2,000 patients.
The company has also upgraded and developed Ras Gharib Special Education School, which supports students with intellectual and hearing disabilities.
The company said it is committed to delivering meaningful and sustainable impact through close collaboration with its Joint Venture (JV) partner, Petrobakr.
“Our CSR initiatives are developed and implemented hand in hand, with shared priorities, coordinated efforts, and aligned budgets to ensure that our resources are directed toward the needs of the communities we serve,” the company added.
Vaalco Energy, a Houston based independent energy company, is focused on Africa with a diversified portfolio of production, development and exploration assets in Gabon, Egypt, Côte d’Ivoire and Equatorial Guinea.
Petrobakr is a JV between Vaalco Energy and the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC). It is the operating company through which Vaalco Energy executes its oil and gas operations in Egypt.
