The government of Egypt is interested in implementing an LPG card system to help tackle black market, Egypt Oil & Gas reported.
Source at EGPC confirmed that Sherif Ismail, Egyptian Prime Minister, has ordered the work on the concept to help combat the problem especially during winter months.
The project which is expected to take place in 2016 will begin by gradual experimentation starting from January 2016, testing 5 governorates every month. It is expected to generalize the plan all over Egypt by May 2016.
It was also stated that warehouses that are proven to supply LPG to the black market will be reprehended through a 50% reduction in supply.
