Petronas and Bintulu Prilled Urea (BPUSB) have signed Heads of Agreements (HoA) that will potentially  supply natural gas to BPUSB as feedstock for its proposed petrochemical plant in Tanjung Kidurong.

“This HOA underscores PETRONAS’ commitment to work with the State Government in expanding the domestic gas and petrochemical industry in Sarawak in accordance with the Principle Agreement signed in 2016,” Petronas Senior Vice President of Malaysia Petroleum Management Mohamed Firouz said commenting on the agreement.

“The growth of the domestic economy will greatly benefit the people of Sarawak. Towards this objective, PETRONAS with the support of the State Government will continue to work at attracting new investments into the upstream sector to ensure sustainable gas supply to all our existing and new customers,” Firouz added.

This agreement opens the door for Petronas to form a new relationship with BPSUSB as a domestic gas customer.
