The Borg El-Arab Petroleum Company has made a new petroleum discovery in the ASH-2 area of Abu Senan concession in the Western Desert, with a production rate of 7,000 barrel of crude oil per day and 10 million cubic feet per day (mcf/d) of natural gas, according to a press release.

The announcement was made in a report which the Minster of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, received from Borg El Arab Petroleum Company, which explores the areas under the administration of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and Kuwait Energy Egypt.

This comes in light of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ strategy to increase petroleum and natural gas reserves.
