The Chairman of Egyptian Ethylene and Derivatives Company (Ethydco), Abd El-Rahman Zeid, announced that the company has completed 97.2% of its petrochemicals complex with a total investment cost estimated at $1.9b, Amwal Al Ghad reported.

The complex is working on a project for producing ethylene with the capacity of 460,000 tons per year and on another project for production of polyethylene with the capacity of 400,000 tons annually. Ethydco also produces 20,000 tons of butadiene annually and 26,000 tons of butadiene derivatives per year, Zawya wrote.

The chairman noted that the complex is set to enhance the integration policy between petrochemicals producing projects through supplying petrochemicals firms with their needs of ethylene.
