The Egyptian Ministry of Electricity is in talks with Sweden to exchange knowledge and expertise on smart grids, Al Borsa Newspaper reported.

This comes as an Egyptian delegation chaired by Osama Asran, Deputy Minister of Electricity, visited Sweden to meet with the Swedish Minister for Energy and Digital Development, Anders Ygeman, to boost cooperation and get introduced to new technologies for smart grids and smart meters.

The cooperation further aims at developing control centers according to the latest technologies as the electricity sector plans to transform into a smart network.

The sector’s vision to turn the electricity national grid into a smart one aims to enable the inclusion of huge electricity capacities, Asran said.
