The Egyptian Prime Minister, Moustafa Madbouly, held a meeting on November 13 in the presence of the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, and the Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Mohamed Shaker, to solve the problems facing extending facilities to a number of investment projects.

The Egyptian Electric Utility & Consumer Protection Regulatory Agency requested from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to recommend a consultant to review the organizational framework and regulations related to using the independent power producer (IPP)

The Ministry of Electricity expects the power grid link to begin operations by the end of the year 2019.
