Egypt Calls for Boosting Integration, Partnerships to Exploit Africa’s Energy Resources

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi participated in the 10th Annual Powering Africa Summit in Washington with high-level attendance from ministers, officials, investors, and funding institutions.

In his speech, Badawi emphasized the importance of partnerships between governments, the private sector, and international financing institutions to optimally exploit Africa’s energy resources and provide sustainable energy sources for its people to address the issue of energy poverty on the continent.

Badawi highlighted the necessity of integrating efforts between African countries to tackle this challenge, which affects 600 million Africans, highlighting Egypt’s support for the efforts of the African Petroleum Producers’ Organization (APPO) in this regard.

The summit took place on the 6th and 7th of March in the presence of a large number of ministers and senior government officials from the United States and Africa, as well as investors, energy industry leaders, private sector financiers, and service and technology providers from North America.
