Petroleum Minister Reviews Sector Updates with House of Representatives, Senate to Enhance Integration

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi held a regular meeting with members of the House of Representatives and the Senate within the framework of enhancing communication and integrated work between the Ministry and the parliamentary councils.

During the meeting, the Minister discussed to implement investment incentive programs in the oil and gas sector during the last eight months since the government was assigned, which clearly contributed to achieving positive indicators to accelerate drilling operations and production in many projects in cooperation with investment partners.

He noted that these incentives led to saving part of the import bill by $1.5 billion during the first six months of 2025, in addition to accelerating new exploration operations that achieved important results for new discoveries in the Western Mediterranean region and the King Mariout region.

Badawi stressed that the Egypt Energy Show 2025 (EGYPES 2025), which achieved significant success, reflects the interest of international companies in the energy sector in Egypt and their positive vision of investment opportunities in the fields of oil, gas, green and renewable energy in light of the capabilities that Egypt have.

For their part, the representatives congratulated the Minister on the success of EGYPES 2025, expressing their happiness to participate in this distinguished conference, highlighting that the Parliament is keen to coordinate with the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MoPMR) to create an attractive competitive climate and increase investments in this sector to support economic growth.

They praised the efforts and serious work made by the work teams in the petroleum sector to secure energy and maximize the added value of its resources for the benefit of the economy and meet the needs of citizens.
