Damietta Liquefication Plant Agreement Expires

The agreement conducted between Eni, the Egyptian Natural gas Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), and the Spanish company Naturgy to settle the disputes related to operating the Damietta liquefaction plant in Egypt has expired, according to a press release.

EGAS has implemented some of the conditions for this agreement which was conducted on February 27, but the implementation of the remaining conditions are on hold due to the coronavirus outbreak, which led to terminating this agreement.

EGAS said that it is ready to negotiate again in that matter after taking some conditions in consideration.

It is worth noting that Eni company has signed several agreements with the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), EGAS, and Naturgy, to restart the operations in Damietta liquefaction plant in Egypt by June.
