Petrogas’ Katameya Factory produces around 60,000 domestic butane cylinders and 10,000 commercial butane cylinders per day,  Raafat Abdel Hady, Head of Petrogas said , according to a press release

Abdel Hady’s remarks came during a visit by the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla to the factory to ensure the sustainability of butane production and the ability to provide butane cylinders to the areas that are not ready for natural gas delivery.

According to statement, the ministry’s strategy aims to stabilize the butane market by increasing the strategic balance. Meanwhile, the ministry is implementing several new projects to increase butane storage capacities to be distributed geographically and in parallel with implementing natural gas delivery to households.

El Molla affirmed that the ministry is in constant coordination with the competent agencies to ensure that any commodity reaches consumers at the specified prices.

It should be noted that around one million butane cylinders are being pumped daily into the local market to meet the citizens’ needs.
