Official Gazette publishes Law authorizing Oil Exploration Contracts in Sidi Barrani

President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi ratified Law No. 159 of 2020 authorizing Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tareq El Molla to contract with the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), Chevron Egypt Holdings LTD and Tharwa Petroleum Company (S.A.E) for oil and gas exploration in the northern Sidi Barrani. marine area in the Mediterranean Sea, according to Al-Ahram news website.

Petroleum Arrears Fall by 5.5% in June

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla announce the initial signing with the winning companies of the Red Sea bid round. Currently, legislative measures are being taken to submit a proposal to the Cabinet. El Molla added that the bid round’s results will push forward the ministry's plans to attract foreign investments into the petroleum sector especially in unexplored areas.
