The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MoPMR) has denied circulated news of shortages in butane cylinders in some governorates, affirming that supplies are operating normally and that refineries continue to produce and supply butane to filling plants.
Bulk gas supplies allocated for filling butane cylinders are available at filling plants, which are operating at full capacity in line with market needs, and there are no indications of a shortage in available quantities, said the ministry.
It added that it monitors on a daily basis supplies, production, and distribution to ensure regular deliveries across the country.
Separately, the ministry has reiterated last week’s denial of reports circulating on certain social media pages and websites regarding changes to fuel prices. The prices being promoted as new official prices are inaccurate and not based on any official decision, the petroleum ministry stressed.
It confirmed that current petroleum product prices remain unchanged, noting that the committee responsible for monitoring the pricing mechanism for petroleum products has not yet been convened and has issued no decision or recommendation on price adjustments.
Any developments or decisions regarding petroleum product prices will be officially announced by the ministry and relevant authorities, it added.
