SPE Emphasizes Commitment to Supporting Egyptian Oil, Gas Sector

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, took part in the monthly meeting and scientific lecture organized by the Egyptian Branch of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).

During the event, he underscored the critical role of knowledge sharing and expertise exchange in fostering innovation and advancing the development of Egypt’s oil and gas sector.

During the meeting, Saeed Abdel Moneim, Chairman of the SPE – Egyptian Branch, welcomed Badawi and highlighted commitment to supporting the Egyptian oil and gas community based on the Society’s vision to connect a global community of engineers, scientists and energy professionals, as the Society enhances communication and transfer of expertise in more than 145 countries around the world.

Badawi emphasized the role of the SPE in supporting technical cadres at the sector level and its role in Egyptian society. The association in the Egyptian branch provides many services to transfer knowledge, for example the monthly scientific meeting and workshops in the oil and gas fields, as well as the scientific digital library of the Arab Academy for Petroleum and Gas, which was established in partnership between the Egyptian section and the PioPetro Association at the University of Marietta in the USA.

Additionally, Badawi praised the association’s various programs, such as the Energy4me program, which supports the introduction of the energy sector, renewable and non-renewable energy sources, energy conservation, as well as the principles of safety, health, and environmental conservation.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Badawi outlined the key pillars of developing Egypt’s petroleum sector and expressed gratitude to the association and its members for their efforts in knowledge transfer, which significantly contributes to advancing these development priorities.
