Sonatrach, Equinor Signs MoU for E&P in Algeria

Sontarach company announced the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with its Norwegian partner Equinor company to find cooperation opportunities in the fields of exploration and production (E&P) of hydrocarbons in Algeria, environment protection, new technologies, and operational performance, a press release cited.
The signature of this cooperation protocol aims at enhancing the partnership between the two sides through searching new collaboration areas in upstream and in other areas such as greenhouse gases emissions reduction and carbon impact control, industrial safety management, and new technology application to improve hydrocarbons production and to develop efficient model for managing petroleum operations.

Equinor exists in Algeria since 2004 and it is a partner for Sonatrach and BP in operating the fields of Ain Salah and Ain Amenas in addition to Timissit.
