Egypt’s Sidi Kerir Petrochemicals Targets 5%-10% Sales Increase

Egypt’s Sidi Kerir Petrochemicals Company (Sidpec) hopes to increase sales by 5%-10% in 2016, said the company’s Marketing Head, Mohamed Saad, to Amwal al Ghad. At the end of 2015, Sidpec had sales of EGP1.533b ($195.6m).

Saad said that the company achieved 95% of its production targets for 2015, despite challenges that companies in petrochemicals and other fields have faced. Accordingly, Sidi Kerir produced 224,000 tons of polyethylene over the year, of which almost 140,000 tons were sold in the Egyptian market.

In December, the company signed a contract with the German company ThyssenKrupp to improve the gas specifications worth m.
