Qatar to Supply $16b LNG to Pakistan for 15 Years

Pakistan has finalised a 15-year, $16b liquefied natural gas (LNG) deal with supplier Qatar, said the Pakistani energy minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.

“We have finalised the deal. The first shipment is expected in December,” he was quoted by Pakistan’s Dunya News as saying.

“We are hopeful for similar deals in the future”, he added.

According to Trade Arabia Abbasi said that the two sides have agreed on a price.

He did elaborate, however, on what this price was.

As for the amount agreed to, it is 1.5m tons per year.

The minister made these remarks on the sidelines of an Asian ministerial energy roundtable in the Qatari capital Doha.
