Qatar: Nakilat Takes Over Management of Q-Flex Carrier

Qatari liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipping company Nakilat Shipping Qatar (NSQL) has taken over full ship management and operations of Q-Flex LNG carrier Mesaimeer from Shell Trading and Shipping Company (STASCo), LNG World News reported.

According to Qatar Tribune, the cargo has the capacity to carry 216,321cm of gas.

Mesaimeer is wholly-owned by Nakilat and chartered by Qatargas. The vessel was built in South Korea by Hyundai Heavy Industries. The vessel was delivered in March 2009 and has been in service ever since.

Mesaimeer is the sixth LNG vessel to be completely managed by NSQL. In total, the company manages 14 vessels, from which 10 comprise LNG and four liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

Nakilat is a Qatari LNG transport company providing essential transportation link in Qatar’s LNG supply chain. It operates the ship repair and construction facilities at Erhama bin Jaber Al Jalahma Shipyard in Ras Laffan Industrial City via two strategic joint ventures: N-KOM and NDSQ.

Additionally, the company also offers a full range of marine support services to vessels operating in Qatari waters.
