An official at the Ministry of Petroleum denied reports that gas company BG had halted production and development of two stages of its offshore West Delta Deep Marine project, Egypt Oil & Gas reported.

Reuters had earlier published information purporting that BG, a subsidiary of Shell Oil, had stopped work at the 9A+ and 9B wells after disagreements on pricing with Egypt. However, the ministry stated that there is currently no phase 9A+ in the West Delta project and that phase 9B has not entered development yet.

Further, the ministry informed that it is still in negotiations with Shell about the project’s schedule and that Shell is committed to all of the terms of the development agreement originally signed with BG.
