Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El-Molla, visited the Egyptian Refining Company, the Cairo Oil Refining Company, and Petrogas in the Mostorod area in the Qalyubia province, accompanied by several officials and presidents of petroleum companies, the ministry stated in a press release.

The visit began with the inspection of the construction work of the Egyptian Refining Company, which is a new refining project in Egypt. Managing Director, Muhammad Saad, explained that the environmentally friendly project is expected to provide high-quality petroleum products for an overall investment of $3.7b.

Furthermore, the minister inspected the Cairo Oil Refining Company, whose president, Zohdy Maaruf, explained that the company’s two laboratories in Mostorod and Tanta were designed to produce 10m tons of petroleum products per year.

During the visit, the minister said that securing Egypt’s fuel needs for the domestic market and for development projects, while improving services provided to citizens, are among the vital goals that the petroleum sector strives to achieve.
