Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi approved the budget plan for the fiscal year (FY) 2025/26 for the Petroleum Gas Company (Petrogas) in the presence of Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, leaders of the petroleum sector, representatives of the Central Auditing Organization (CAO), and the head of the Petroleum Workers Union.
During the meeting, Mohamed Farhat, Chairman of Petrogas, reviewed the most important features and projects of the investment budget for FY 2025/26, the volume of work that has been implemented to develop the infrastructure and areas for filling, producing and trading butane cylinders affiliated with the company. This is in addition to planned projects as well as completing the stages of the butane trading monitoring project using the SCADA system.
Badawi highlighted the importance of following occupational health and safety (HSE) procedures and increasing awareness among workers of the importance of these areas to achieve the highest levels of safety to preserve their lives.
Badawi also pointed out the importance of achieving a balance between men and women in the petroleum work system and paying attention to training programs for both genders in various technical and administrative fields. He also emphasized the necessity of digital transformation to keep pace with the needs of the petroleum labor market, in coordination between the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC), the holding companies, the affiliated companies, and the General Union of Petroleum Sector Workers.
