The Middle East Oil Tankage & Pipelines Company (MIDTAP)’s platform received a total of 138 shipments during 2018, said Samir Rizk, head of the company, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.

The platform has made 4 million tons worth of petroleum trade movements in 2018, recording 52% increase from 2017, Rizk noted during the general assembly chaired by Minister of Petroleum, Tarek El Molla, to review the 2018 results.

The platform’s maintenance work in the Dekheila Port has cost $7.5 million worth of investments. MIDTAP has further completed development of the port’s onshore facilities area to benefit from the unused places on site in order to establish new facilities for trading and storing petroleum products.

MIDTAP plans to contribute in the refining and petrochemical complex to be established in Suez, producing diesel, gasoline and butane, as well as petroleum coke. The company is preparing operational and economic studies to conduct specialized work related to MIDTAP’s work scope.

The company is further studying a number of projects with other oil sector firms in the refining and petrochemical complex in New Alamein city to produce ethylene and propylene, as well as gasoline and butadiene.
