Karim Badawi, the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, met with a delegation from the Egyptian oil services company, Maridive,  to discuss its new investment plan for expanding the scope of its activities in Egypt to include oil production.  Maridive seeks to leverage its technical expertise to enhance the efficiency and development of existing and mature oil fields, supporting Egypt’s efforts to boost domestic oil and natural gas production, noted a statement by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (M0PMR).

The delegation included Mohamed Nadim, CEO of Maridive Offshore Projects, and Tarek Farid, Managing Director and CEO of the company.

Badawi said that the ministry fully supports projects that help grow local output. He highlighted that numerous opportunities are available to both international and local companies through the regular announcements of investment rounds and global tenders on the Egypt Upstream Gateway (EUG). He also stressed the petroleum sector’s commitment to providing necessary facilitation and support to ensure the success of Maridive’s expansion plans.

For his part, Nadim said that Maridive hopes to expand its footprint in Egypt in production and integrated solutions, drawing on its extensive experience in Egypt, the Gulf region, and North Africa. He also shed light on the company’s track record in well development projects, offshore pipeline installation, and platform construction.
