Lukoil Implements Oil-Associated Gas Utilization Project

Russian multinational oil corporation, Lukoil, has implemented an oil-associated gas utilization project at the Sredne-Nazymskoye field in the Russian district KhMAO-Yugra, according to a press release.

This technology acts as a source of energy for drilling and has reduced power consumption costs for drilling by 50% compared with that of diesel generators used before.

The project, which was carried out by Lukoil’s subsidiary company, RITEK LLC, saw the construction of a power center of seven gas-fired energy generators, two transformer substations, and indoor switchgear at the Sredne-Nazymskoye field. Also, a super condenser unit accounts for uninterrupted power supply stabilizing circuit voltage during sharp fluctuations.

The completion of this project is in line with Lukoil’s target of reducing gas emissions in line with environmental legislation.
