National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) has signed memorandums of understanding (MoU) with the Lukoil, Tatneft and Zarubezhneft of Russia. A workshop would be held to brief the Russian companies on details of the new model of oil contracts in Iran, reported Trade Arabia.
NIOC’s Deputy Managing Director for Developing projects and Engineering, Gholam-Reza Manouchehri, said that the deals were signed during a recent visit to Tehran of a 35 member Russian delegation comprising representatives of Russia’s giant oil companies, according to Fars News. Furthermore, the Deputy Minister of Petroleum for International Affairs and Trading, Amir-Hossein Zamaninia, said that Gazprom is ready for development of a field in Persian Gulf and contribute to the Iranian LNG project. He added a delegation of senior directors from Gazprom will visit Tehran early December for talks with the NIOC.
In related news, NIOC had signed two MoUs earlier 2016 to entrust studies on two sustainable West and Aban fields, as well as Dehloran oilfield to Zarubezhneft and Tatneft respectively.
