GE, EETC to Increase Capacity at Transformer Station

General Electric (GE) signed a contract with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) to increase the capacity of the Gabal El Zeit transformer station, Amwal Al Ghad reports.

The transformer station’s current capacity is 22,220 kilowatts (KW). Under the contract, its capacity will be increased to 120 megawatts (MW) next year, according to Al Mal News.

The Gabal El Zeit transformer station serves as the primary connector of the Gabal El Zeit wind farm to the national grid, Al Mal News reports. It was originally built by GE and relies upon GE equipment and technology.
