Energy Recovery Awarded $3.3 million for Egypt Desalination Project

Energy Recovery Inc. announced a $3.3 million order to supply its PX Pressure Exchanger for a water desalination project in Egypt, expected to ship in Q4 2018, Oil and Gas 360 reported.

The Energy Recovery PX-Q300 Pressure Exchangers will produce up 106,560 cubic meters of water per day, and estimates show a potential power usage reduction of 16 mW per day at the facilities, as well as helping the facility avoid over 83,500 tons of CO2 emissions per year.

“Egypt continues to be a global leader in desalination and was an early adopter of Energy Recovery’s technology,”  Rodney Clemente, Energy Recovery’s Vice President stated.

“Since deploying our industry-leading PX Pressure Exchanger technology, which offers the lowest lifecycle costs of any energy recovery device on the market, we have successfully captured 100% mega project market share in-country with 550,000 cubic meters per day of installed capacity.
