Egypt’s Oil Minister Speaks at Offshore Technology Conference

Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, participates as a key speaker at the Offshore Technology Conference, the world’s largest offshore conference in the oil and gas industry, held in Houston, the ministry informed in a press release.

At the conference and exhibition, the minister shed light on the investment opportunities in various areas of the oil and gas industry in Egypt, noting that Egypt has undertaken energy reforms in order to attract more investments. Further, the minister drew attention to potential projects to be developed in Egypt’s new gas fields and to other possibilities in both onshore and offshore sectors.

On the sidelines of the conferences, the minister pointed out that he will hold several meetings with a number of major international companies operating in Egypt to discuss their business plans for the coming period, and the ways in which they may seek to increase the volume of investments, and thus accelerate the development of discovered fields.

In addition, El Molla took also part in a meeting of the Organization of Energy Cities in Houston, USA, at the invitation of the US Department of Commerce, the ministry further informed in the press release. The minister said that 20 global cities included in the organization are pivotal in the field of energy and the meeting aims at exchanging experience, knowledge, and modern technologies in the sector.
