Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla along with Djibouti’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Yonis Ali Guedi has agreed to form a joint task force to identify cooperation opportunities in the petroleum sector.
This came during their meeting in Cairo to explore collaboration opportunities and discuss the use of Egyptian expertise in Djibouti’s oil and gas industry.
During the meeting, El Molla affirmed the support of Egypt to Djibouti’s petroleum sector, further emphasizing that Egypt will provide all facilities and expertise for oil and gas industry in Djibouti.
He stressed the importance of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) that was signed between the two counties in the energy field in February 2022, highlighting the necessity to build on it.
El Molla reviewed the capabilities and experiences of the Egyptian petroleum companies in the fields of designing and establishing petroleum projects, technical and mechanical support, as well as logistics.
For his part, Guedi expressed the desire of his country to cooperate with Egypt in developing its petroleum industry in the upcoming period.
