President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Murray Auchincloss, CEO of bp, in the presence of Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, and Nader Zaki, the company’s regional president for the Middle East and North Africa.

During the meeting, El-Sisi praised the company’s activities in Egypt in the fields of gas and oil, as well as in developing various Egyptian fields.

El-Sisi also expressed support for the company’s increased investments in the Egyptian energy sector, emphasizing the government’s commitment to facilitating the operations of international companies and enhancing the private sector’s involvement in this vital area.

The President further highlighted the state’s desire to expand cooperation with bp to encompass clean and renewable energy, particularly given Egypt’s promising potential for green hydrogen production.

Additionally, El-Sisi emphasized the state’s efforts to position Egypt as a regional hub for the production and export of clean and renewable energy. He also noted the initiatives aimed at increasing the involvement of international companies in low-emission energy production projects within the country.

Meanwhile, Auchincloss expressed his appreciation and happiness to meet the Egyptian President, highlighting his pride in the company’s activity in Egypt, which extends for more than 60 years, stressing the company’s commitment to strengthening its business and increasing its investments in the Egyptian energy sector, as it is a key partner in discovering and developing Egypt’s natural gas and oil resources.

Auchincloss also expressed the company’s intention to implement projects to produce clean and renewable energy, which is a priority for the Egyptian side.
