Egypt, AD Ports Group Explore Collaboration in Energy, Logistics

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi met with Ahmad Al Mutawa, Regional CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Group (AD Ports Group), a global leader in trade, industry, and logistics, along with the accompanying delegation. During the meeting, Badawi highlighted the promising investment opportunities within Egypt’s petroleum and mineral resources sector, underpinned by the six key pillars of the Ministry’s strategy.

These pillars will facilitate the integration of AD Ports Group’s advanced technologies in trade, industry, and logistics, contributing to the optimal utilization of Egypt’s strategic assets. These include ports, transportation networks, airports, petroleum and gas pipelines, strategic storage facilities, and LNG plants in Idku and Damietta. Badawi emphasized that these capabilities enhance Egypt’s role as a regional energy hub.

For his part, Al Mutawa praised the six pillars of the Ministry’s strategy, which encompass diverse activities that align with the group’s work strategy and its prioritization of investment in Egypt. Both sides have agreed to hold joint workshops to study potential collaborative projects and develop visions and mechanisms for implementation in the near future.

The meeting took place at the Ministry’s headquarters in the Government District of the New Administrative Capital. It was attended by Ihab Ragaai, First Undersecretary of the Ministry for Production Affairs; Khaled El-Badry, Head of the Central Projects Administration; and Moataz Atef, Undersecretary for the Technical Office, and Official Spokesperson of the Ministry.
