Abu Dhabi-based Dolphin Energy confirmed it has created a shortlist of companies for an engineering, procurement and construction contract related to its plant in Ras Laffan, Qatar.

Dolphin said the companies in line for the award had responded to an invitation to tender for the EPC contract which covers the installation of compressors at the gas processing plant.

“The move will help ensure continuous supply of natural gas to the (United Arab Emirates) and Oman by increasing the overall reliability and availability of Dolphin’s gas compression facilities,” Dolphin said in a statement on Wednesday.

The company has already awarded a contract to Rolls Royce Dresser to supply the three new compressors with gas turbine drivers.

The company also said in the statement that media reports claiming the upgrade would increase throughput at the plant to 3 billion cubic feet per day by 2015 were incorrect.
