Bahrain is holding talks with Russia on the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG). The Russian companies involved in the talks are Gazprom and Rosneft, Bahrain’s Oil Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Khalifa, stated to Sputnik. The minister further noted that from the two firms “Gazprom has more resources,” without disclosing more details.
As informed on Arabian Oil and Gas, Bahrain and Russia have already signed deals concerning LNG supplies. Bahrain’s National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) and Gazprom inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the expansion of cooperation in the sector. Meanwhile, Russia’s Rosgeologia company and NOGA signed an agreement on strengthening cooperation in geological surveying for production of oil and natural gas.
In related news, Nogaholding recently marked the financial close of its LNG Terminal Project with Bahrain LNG WLL, the developer and owner of the first LNG receiving and regasification terminal to be developed on a PPP basis in the Middle East.
