During the meeting, they discussed the company’s future plans in the upstream sector, including ongoing negotiations with Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) for a new exploration area in the Mediterranean Sea as part of Shell’s efforts to boost production rates.

Both sides also reviewed the progress of evaluating the Western Mediterranean regions following the processing of seismic data. They discussed plans to setting the first well in North Cleopatra and North Marina on production during the fiscal year 2024/25, as well as the ongoing evaluation of the Red Sea regions and the development of a drilling plan.
