Badawi Reviews ENPPI, PETROJET Gas Project in Abu Dhabi

At the start of his official visit to Abu Dhabi, Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, visited the Engineering for the Petroleum and Process Industries (ENPPI) project site in Habshan to review the work firsthand.

The minister reviewed the project implemented by ENPPI in cooperation with The Petroleum Projects and Technical Consultations Company (PETROJET) as part of an Egyptian consortium for Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC). The project involves gas pre-conditioning facilities in Habshan and their connection to the Ruwais liquefied natural gas (LNG) project under an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) delivery model, according to a statement by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MoPMR).

Badawi said the execution of projects outside Egypt by petroleum-sector companies reflects their engineering and technical capabilities. He stated that the ministry is pursuing expansion into external markets and increasing the business volume of sector companies through partnerships with national institutions in other countries, including ADNOC.

ENPPI is listed among international contractors in rankings published by the US-based Engineering News-Record (ENR). The Middle East Economic Digest (MEED) Projects, a prominent media and business intelligence company, has also ranked the company among Arab contractors operating in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and among leading main contractors in the UAE.

The company executes turnkey engineering, procurement, and construction contracts for pipelines, gas plants, and refineries across Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Oman, and parts of Africa.

Other Egyptian oil and gas companies are operating outside Egypt, including Cheiron, which operates upstream assets in Mexico and holds equity concessions in onshore brownfield sites in Romania. IPR Energy Group manages upstream operations and enhanced oil recovery packages across the Americas, the Middle East, and Asia. PETROJET constructs oil, gas, and petrochemical infrastructure through active branches and operations in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Algeria, Libya, Iraq, and the UAE.
