Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, and Mohamed Ahmed Abdel Zaher, Governor of Alexandria, have launched the 8th Mediterranean Offshore Conference and Exhibition (MOC) on April 19th, under the auspices of Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, a ministry press release stated.

More than 70 local, regional, and international firms from 23 countries are participating in the exhibition, where they will present their activities and the latest technologies used in the oil and gas industry.

El Molla said that the conference provides a good opportunity for scientific and practical discussions to enrich the oil industry, especially with regard to exploration and production in deep waters. He added that a number of important issues related to the natural gas industry in the Mediterranean region will be discussed during the conference.

Osama AlBakly, MOC’s Head of Organizing Committee, explained that the conference has become one of the most prominent events on the international conferences agenda, attended by many industry experts. It is expected that 2,000 participants will take part in the conference over the course of three days.
