The Western Desert Operating Petroleum Company (WEPCO) has launched the newest enterprise resource planning (ERP) application produced by SAP, the official Facebook WEPCO’s page reported.
WEPCO’s Chairman, Ibrahim Massoud, said that this application helps in linking data, accelerates deals and supports decision-making through creating a unified system for managing petroleum assets and materials.
The company successfully applied and operated this new system in May by using the latest applications of SAP Fiori. WEPCO started the initial operation for the first phase of the project which includes financial deals, tasks, assets, contracts and revenues to be connected to the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) to facilitate excellent performance for the company.
The second phase, which focuses on human resources and wages, will start from August.
This project comes in line with Strategy 2030 to fully develop, update, and improve institutional performance adopted by President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi.
WEPCO is one of the first companies to apply SAP Fiori which is used worldwide with the graphical user interface (GUI) system.
