South Africa Boosting Local Petroleum Sector, Balancing Ghana Relations

There has been a flurry of petroleum actively recently in South Africa. There was a Business Seminar on opportunities in the petroleum industry retail sector organized by the country’s Department of Energy, reported AllAfrica.

The seminar was meant to empower entrepreneurs seeking to operate or own fuel service stations and share information on license procedures, according to the official press release.

The South African Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr Mzwandile Masina, also arrived in Accra, Ghana to attend the Outward Selling and Investment Mission taking place from 17-19 August 2015, said another AllAfrica item.

According to CAJ News Africa, Ghana is one of the few countries that South Africa has a trade deficit with, consuming increasing quantities of oil from the fellow African nation. Hence the concern with introducing South African businessmen to the country to boost industrial exports and balance the deficit.
