Regas Connects Natural Gas to 135,830 Housing Units in Qena

The Chairman of Gas Region (Regas) company, Hatem Abdel Ghany, stated that the company has connected natural gas to 135,830 housing units at a cost of EGP 280 million in Qena, according to a statement published by the company.

Abdel Ghany’s statements came during his meeting with Ashraf Al Daoudi, the Governor of Qena and other officials to discuss the execution situation of natural gas connection projects in the governorate.

Abdel Ghany added that these connections will save about 2.4 million butane cylinders per year. He elaborated that Regas has finished the construction of two stations for fueling cars with natural gas in addition to the preparation of  technical and economic studies for other three stations.

The chairman said that the company is coordinating with the governorate and the Industrial Development Authority to link natural gas to the two industrial areas “Howa – Nagah Hamadi” and “Kalahen – Kaft” at a cost of EGP 264 million.

Additionally, Regas is preparing the needed studies to deliver natural gas to new urban centers  including New Qena and West Qena, Abdel Ghany explained.
