Egypt’s consumption of petroleum products dropped to 3.094 million tons in August, a 6.3% year-on-year (Y-o-Y) decline from 3.302 million tons the country consumed in August 2016, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.
Production also decreased. It fell to 2.809 million tons, a 2.6% Y-o-Y decrease from the 2.884 million tons produced in August 2016, statistics released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) show.
Earlier this year, oil and natural gas output was on the rise. During the first five months of 2017, Egypt produced 28.138 million tons of oil and natural gas, Amwal Al Ghad reported in August.
