The Mineral Resources and Mining Industries Authority (MRMIA) has announced September 22-24, 2026, as the closing dates for bidding on seven available mineral exploration blocks.
According to MRMIA, bidding for the Db76 block will close on September 22, while applications for the Ba81, Be80, Cf77 and Ea72 blocks will close on September 23.
The Authority set September 24 as the closing date for bids on the Cb79, Dc77 and Ee71 blocks.
The announcement forms part of MRMIA’s ongoing offering of mineral blocks to investors under its Open Blocks System (OBS), which allows companies to apply for available exploration areas without waiting for traditional fixed bidding rounds.
The latest deadlines follow another round of bidding announced by MRMIA earlier in September. The Authority set September 16 as the closing date for the Ed72 gold, Kk6 kaolin and Ph40 phosphate blocks, while bidding for the Ec71 gold block closed on September 17.
MRMIA also set September 18 as the deadline for the Df72, Df74, Ea71 and Eb68 gold blocks. It previously announced September 8-11 as the closing dates for another 21 exploration blocks covering gold, phosphate, kaolin and talc.
The Authority said all talc ore blocks included in its offerings had already closed for bidding on September 10, 2026.
Earlier in September, MRMIA set September 16-18 as the bidding deadlines for eight other blocks covering gold, kaolin and phosphate. The bidding forms part of the Authority’s Open Blocks System (OBS), which allows companies to apply for available mineral exploration blocks throughout the year without waiting for fixed bidding rounds.
