Mohamed Abdel Aziz Appointed New GASREG Chairman

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has issued a decree to appoint Mohamed Abdel Aziz as Chairman of Egypt’s Gas Regulatory Authority (GASREG), given the endorsement of Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla, to succeed Karem Mahmoud, whose term as GASREG head ended in February 2024.

The nomination of Abdel Aziz was based on a flawless track record of impressive achievements and experiences that undoubtedly make him qualified to assume this position.

Throughout his extensive career at Enppi Petroleum, Abdel Aziz steadily climbed the ranks. Starting as a project engineer, he rose to become Assistant to the President for Projects in 2017. Following this, he was appointed President of Gas Coal, where he spearheaded the company’s most ambitious project to date: the New Administrative Capital. His success there led to his appointment as Undersecretary of the Ministry of Petroleum for Projects. He eventually returned to Enppi as President, completing a successful full circle within the company.
