McDermott Wins Contract from Qatar Petroleum

McDermott International has won a sizeable brownfield project from Qatar Petroleum for the engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) of four wellhead jackets, reported Trade Arabia.

Tom Mackie, vice president – Middle East, said: “McDermott’s integrated EPCI capabilities are critical to these offshore projects. This award is another example of collaboration with our customers to meet their critical production and project requirements.”

“The award is expected to be executed with McDermott’s internal resources and backed by our proven track record of designing, building and installing offshore and subsea solutions”, he added.

According to Rigzone McDermott is scheduled to install the two jackets for the Bul-Hanine field offshore east of Doha by December 2016.

The other two are due for installation by July 2017, with a total weight of all four is 3,495 tons.

McDermott’s team in Dubai will carry out the project, while the jackets themselves will be fabricated at the firm’s Dubai-based facility in the UAE.

The installation work will be carried out by vessels from the company’s fleet.
