Studies on an undersea pipeline to transfer 20mcm/day of Iranian gas to Oman for a period of 25 years will be completed in six months, TradeArabia reported. An Iranian delegation will visit Oman soon to discuss the gas price and other issues related to the $60b deal concluded by Iranian President, Hassan Rouhani, in 2013, wrote Muscat Daily, citing Iranian media reports.

“Given the favorable relations between the two countries, Oman is interested in Iranian gas and is okay with all the details of the plan,” Oman’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, noted, adding that according to the 2013 agreement, Iranian gas will be piped through Oman to world markets.

Further, “Iran’s plan is to reach an agreement with Oman on the LNG tooling fee,” Alireza Kameli, Managing Director of the National Iranian Gas Export Co (NIGEC) said, adding that Oman had a spare production capacity for 2.5m-3.5m tons of LNG, which Iran can use.
