Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla met with a delegation of a group Eurasian Resources Group (ERG), which is specialized in working in the fields of mining, energy operations, transportation and marketing in 16 countries around the world.

During the meeting, ERG’s officials expressed their interest in Egypt’s mining sector, and the possibility of pumping investments into the Egyptian market, given its promising opportunities.

El Molla explained the developments and reforms witnessed in the mining sector, and the resulting bidding for the exploitation of mineral resources, which attracted global investments and partnerships.

The minister stated that the group’s participation in the Egypt Mining Forum (EMF 2023) is a good opportunity to study the Egyptian market well, with specific attention to mining sector reform.

During the meeting, Jonathan Cordero, Head of Corporate Development at ERG, showcased the areas of work of the group and its presence in 16 countries around the world.  He emphasized the company’s presence in the Africa and its target to expand and work in the Nubian Shield region.

Both sides agreed to study more opportunities for cooperation and investment as well as benefit from the group’s expertise, especially in achieving more added value to mineral wealth and developing ongoing projects.
