Italian Eni invested $13 billion in Egypt over the past three years, as Egypt comes ahead of the countries in which the company is interested to invest in, said Claudio Descalzi, Eni CEO, Egypt Oil & Gas reports.
This comes during Descalzi’s meeting with the Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly. The meeting also was attended by Minister of Petroleum Tarek El Molla, and a delegation from Eni.
The Egyptian government appreciates the cooperation with Eni, which had the greater effect in developing Egypt’s natural gas resources, Madbouly stated.
Eni has an ambitious plan to increase investments in Egypt, Descalzi noted.
Furthermore, the company is playing a vital role in terms of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as it gives around $20 million to be spent on several activities including establishing clinics and small medical centers to serve citizens in remote cities like Port Said, building youth centers to train youth on the professional level and prepare them for job market, in addition to establishing a medical department to be specialized in burns treatment in Haram hospital.
