The Egyptian governorate of El Beheira has received offers to construct solar energy power plants in Wadi El Natrun and Rasheed worth EGP 1.7b, with capacities ranging from 20 MW to 50 MW, over the course of two years, reported Al Borsa News.
Investment Director at the Governorate, Medhat Fouad, stated that El Beheira received proposals from several companies including El Mokaweloon for Investments and Real State Developments, as well as Infiniti Middle East.
The investment department of the governorate has primarily agreed to the proposals and is waiting for the remaining rounds of approvals from the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, the New and Renewable Energy Authority, and the Armed Forces. Once all required authorizations are obtained, officials in El Beheira will assign land for the contraction of the project, in coordination with the General Authority of Investments. The governorate will grant solar energy investors rights to the projects.
