The Egyptian Prime Minister, Moustafa Madbouly, has announced extending a nationwide curfew for more two weeks starting from 9 April until 23 April, in line with the precautionary measurements taken by the government to combat coronavirus outbreak, according to his statements during a press conference on 8 April.

Madbouly said that the number of curfew hours will be deducted to become ten hours starting from 8 pm to 6 am to allow citizens to prevent traffic congestion.

He added that the government will take strict procedures against the curfew violators.

Moreover, he stressed on the continuity of the other implemented measures including closing schools and universities, decreasing the number of the employees in workplaces, in addition to the closure of the commercial stores and markets during the weekends.
